When The Going Gets Tough
One of the most important lessons that this pandemic has taught me is that life is not going to be the way you sought out to be. Sometimes things in your life will not go right, life happens unexpectedly and the uncalled for will arise. Life will beat you down mentally, physically, and emotionally. Every single person on this earth will all go through times of trials and tribulations. The troubled times we go through all have an end, that end is determined by our mindset and action. The physical or mental scars left behind will be signs of victory or defeat. In all the ways life breaks us down it gives us the opportunity to choose. To choose to stay in the sorrows of your misery or choose the ability to fight and push through the hard times. Even the smallest battles we fight during our darkest moments will lead to more and more progress.
In order to prevail from our hard times we must have a plan of action. There are times when life becomes too much and we need a break. This pandemic has highlighted that we all need some sort of break. Attending online school for a year and working in emergency services during a pandemic has been rough to say the least. Along with all the other obstacles I have faced this year from family tragedies and life’s everyday challenges, this past year has beat me down consistently. I say this because this is real life, there are times where you are going to feel overwhelmed and beat but the fight must go on. Throughout this whole time I relied heavily on my daily routine. It kept me structured and motivated to keep pushing past the b*** s*** that life has thrown at me.
In all my other blogs I mentioned how to create and practice healthy habits and routines. I failed to mention previously that it is okay to fail. Actually failing is encouraged, in order to learn and grow with anything we fail and study why we failed. All of our troubled times are opportunities to learn and grow stronger. Our healthy habits and routines are created to create some structure in our daily lives. When we go through times of hardships we can fall back on our routines to get us back on track. The easiest thing to do is to give up, but the people who choose to fight are the people who want to succeed and achieve their goals. Life can beat us down but we must get back up and fight, we can bend but not break. To whoever is reading this blog post I’ll leave you with this. Tough times don’t last only tough people do.
